Creative Yoga is just my name for workshops which challenge our usual perspective of the world and explore ways of bringing yoga into everyday life. The particular theme of August 7th workshop is balance - in asana, meditation and life in general!
The workshop is designed to be relaxed and informal. It's suitable for anyone who has been attending yoga classes for a while and wishes to develop their yoga practice in a more imaginative way.
Please indicate what you will be bringing along for the shared lunch. Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss anything about the day.
Christine is a British Wheel of Yoga teacher and has been running Creative Yoga summer workshops for the past 4 years.

Everyone can learn to backbend and progress towards ever more challenging postures. Brian will be showing how an understanding of the mechanics involved makes it possible for backbends to be accessible and fun. Through exploration of backbends new skills will be created that will enable them to be more fully incorporated into personal practice.
Two years experience is required for this day.
Booking for both days (21st and 22nd) is £60 for members and £66 for non-members

After three decades, Brian continues on his path of exploration and discovery. He teaches directly from his personal experience and studies. He also runs teacher training courses for Yoga Alliance UK, which is dedicated to setting and maintaining high standards of teaching yoga in Britain and Europe. His book the Art of Adjusting was written specifically for yoga teachers includes many ways of working towards backbends both independently or with a partner.

Veronica originally trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, for whom she taught a number of Foundation Courses, Continuing Professional Development days on Teaching Yoga to Children and also the post-diploma module of the same name for yoga teachers. Attracted to the Satyananda Yoga tradition of Swami Satyananda and the Bihar School of Yoga, she was lucky enough to undertake a Teacher Training Course in that tradition, culminating with a month in the ashram in India in 2003.
Satyananda Yoga focuses on the whole personality, not just the physical and Veronica believes that the awareness and balance it teaches helps us to deal more effectively with our day-to-day lives.
Veronica can offer half day, full day and two-day courses on various aspects of yoga, including:-
• Conscious Ageing: This course looks at the issues around ageing and how we can live happily and healthily into old age.
• Surya Namaskara and Chandra Namaskar: These are offered as individual days or a full weekend.
• also a monthly meditation course in Middleton-in-Teesdale, usually on the first Wednesday of the month.
